About The Retro Bar

The Retro Bar is all about bringing people together for conversation, fun and festivity so forget the pokies and footy and come and check us out. As well as being an awesome local bar we have heaps of weekly entertainment from our sit down comedy nights to live acoustic music with talented local artists. 

The Retro Bar was conceptualized, designed & created by Peter & Karmen Costigan over a 12mth period, based on the newly introduced small bar license and was opened in January 2011 on the site of what used to be the old Commonwealth Bank Kenmore.

Having worked in the entertainment industry interstate and overseas for many years, Peter and Karmen wanted to bring the best aspects of inner city night life and recreate it in their 60-seater bar with the desire to bring some groove home to the burbs and get the community back to finding a social hub that bars used to be.

The Retro Bar has an original tapas style bar menu available till late and an extensive drinks list with a variety of cocktails, some of which you may not have tried for some time, like the Fluffy Duckling, and classics with a twist our Kenmore Cosmo.

Since opening we have played host to many successful group and private parties, but at our heart we are just an awesome local bar and “once you find us you’ll be hooked”
